fish pond

my little fish pond is settling in quite well.
it’s just a concrete bowl with the spiky looking plant in it, plus some miniature waterlilies that i thought had all died some months ago.
we moved the pond so it got a bit more shade, and they all came slowly back.
i’ve got just the one fish in there….i’ll get him a friend or two one day soon.
i suppose goldfish like to have little fishy companions.
anyway, it all seems to be healthy and happy and green there….i’m delighted because i am a terrible killer of fish, usually.
i’ve got a chipped bowl in there for the fish to hide under when the cats decide to go fishing….or “just drinking water from here”.

Your water garden looks very ‘quieting’
The ‘spiky plants’ look like miniature papyrus http://tinyurl.com/yk5yjny attractive little things eh?
Do you have any problems with the cane toads up there eating the fish?

nizzy…it’s a dead ringer! it’s a very cute plant all right…a lovely bright lime green.
the cane toads are everywhere, but they don’t get into the fish pond….it’s up off the ground and there is no way in for them.
they are completely repulsive creatures (the toads, not the fish).
