palm oil

we use palm oil in our soap and i spend a lot of time and energy defending it.
finally, someone has officially pinpointed the real problem the orang-utans face: it’s poverty, not palm oil.
you can read all about it here. (thank you, tim wilson).
sustainable development and poverty relief togther, is the solution.
our own supplier is a founder member of the round table on sustainable palm.
we’ve considered joining up ourselves, but the 2000 euros per years membership fee made us suck in our breath a bit.
i mean, i could pretty much BUY an orang-utan for that.

Well that is good news as I also use Palm oil and like my soap recipe the way it is.

I stopped using palm oil for a while because I was misinformed and misled about how “bad” palm oil is because of how it’s harvested. When I learned that my supplier obtained his palm oil from sustainable sources, I went back to using it. It’s really all about educating yourself about the ingredients you use so if you are ever questioned about the source of your ingredients, you can make an intelligent and informed reply. Thanks for the education:)
