a new ABBA song….thirty years later

my abba-freak (really, borderline obsessive, but we all act as though it’s quite quite normal) friend waved a shiny new CD at me today and said, listen to track three, it’s pure abba gold.

the CD in question is from the benny andersson band: story of a heart.
mr abba didn’t lie: the title song gave me goosebumps as soon as the singer launched into the chorus….it was quite a trip.
the rest of the album is a crazy mix and range of genres and is enjoyable listening and very accomplished of course, ….but story of a heart blew me away.
i imagined agnetha and frida singing it and it wasn’t hard to do.
those guys are still writing for those particular voices.
