a tour of our workshop

i took some photos recently….it was nice to catch the workshop at a somewhat clean and organised moment.
our production schedule starts with THE LIST:

and a bunch of empty trays. each one holds 96 bars ie a full batch:

empty soap moulds standing by:

vegetable oils and caustic soda:

my new soap mixer and absolute favourite piece of equipment.
i imported it from the USA and it is eating up the hard work we throw at it:

essential oil blends waiting in their flasks….and my purple soap grimoire:

maurice measuring out the caustic soda for each batch…just do it nike-man!

clays and oxides mixed and ready to go:

a trolley full of 20 litre buckets of pre-measured, pre-mixed oils:

maurice and mum cutting soap and filling up those empty trays at last!

the fruits of our labour. even though it is a labour of love, you can see how much hard physical work is involved. we think it is all worth it!

Wow, that’s quite an organization you have going there. And, yes, handmade soap is worth any amount of effort!
