soapmaking and safety glasses

i read with some horror this morning about a newbie soaper who blithely soaps without wearing goggles.
lye, if splashed in the eye….and it only takes a single drop….will be highly painful at best and will damage your sight or blind you at worst.
i’ve been shortsighted for years and now i’m getting age-related longsightedness (i’m so happy i could choke)….so for a long time, i have been groping my way around my workshop in big safety spectacles with scratchy plastic lenses that i can’t see through even without the scratches.
peering and squinting at soap is my life.
however
help is at hand.
recently i bought myself a couple of pairs of spectacles in bali.
armed with the prescription, i went hunting around online and found these safety glasses that can be fitted with your prescribed lenses.
safety and vision, what more do you want?
i got two pairs and paid $99 plus postage.
an absolute bargain, if you ask me.
they work perfectly, they arrived n a timely fashion, and i can finally see what’s going on.

As someone who nearly lost an eye early this year, and was blind in that eye for months: It is really, REALLY annoying to only have one working eye. I don’t recommend it.
