excellent prescription glasses in bali

i have been meaning to blog about this for a week.
while in bali recently, i picked up a couple of pairs of prescription glasses from optik melawai, the branch at the galeria mal bali blok.
my friend ella got herself a very spiffy looking pair of prescription sunglasses.
very professional service from the friendly staff there, who tested our eyes with no fuss and it took about two minutes.
we browsed a great range of frames.
i got a pair for reading and a pair for driving.
and now i wish i’d bought a pair of sunglasses as well.
i already have a pair, but a spare would be handy.
without sunglasses, i may as well stay home.
it was a seven day service and they phoned us to let us know the glasses were ready for collection (on our way to the airport, no less….talk about fine timing).
the glasses came in their own little cases, with the prescriptions on a plastic business card…..very handy for emergencies.
the price for two pairs was around AUD$150.
i’m thrilled with that too.
happy as a clam. a clam who can see.
