two weeks ago, a bobcat operator arrived and ripped out the tangled jungle and giant grass and horrible rock-filled soil in front of our rainwater tanks.
this is the site for my long-awaited, much-anticipated white garden.
the plantings for the white garden got started today.
so far i’ve got:
a nutmeg bush
white pentas
white bougainvillea
lilliene grevilleas
a kunzea (wonderful essential oil from the this one)
a white maleleuca
white begonias
a dwarf magnolia
white callistemons
white daisies
white angelonia
white cammelias
leptospermum favescens
murraya paniculata (mock orange i think)
white hippiastrums
of course, these few little things have been simply swallowed up by the vast space….we are going to need a lot more plants, i suspect.
elizabeth has created a lovely shape with the rocks….when the river pebbles get here it will be a delightful spot to sit out on warm nights and look at the white flowers in the moonlight.
