the whole thing was hand-built out of single slabs of queensland maple and coated in a sealer.
our floors, ceiling and walls are all uneven, so things are a bit rustic.
the walls are mini-orb, with a wood trim.
the pantry and oven benches are all on huge industrial castor wheels, so we can roll out and clean behind them easily.
the sink came off the cairns dump five years ago….what we saved on the sink we spent twice on the fancy italian tap….solid stainless steel, with a retractable spray hose.
the stove is an ilve freestanding 6 burner gas/electric and i’m very happy with how it is working out.
certainly a step up from the breville toaster oven i was using before.
i’ve still to get a small tool rack installed and racks for wine glasses and that’s about it.
sum total of built-in area, BEFORE:

temporary outdoors kitchen, for two months:

stainless steel tap with retractable hose:

dining table/work bench with bite out of it:

Awesome – I really like the wheels and the oven, I am jealous – I can’t fit two things at once in mine – which isn’t really even mine! I see you’ve started an internet thing on your copper cleaning tips I am yet to try it on my silver – maybe tomorrow. Cheers Toni.

Your new kitchen is a work of art in itself. What a beautiful space. I love how functional you kept everything as well.

Your pictures are beautiful! I truly love all of the natural wood all the way down to the wood trim. It all looks very organic, earthy, natural. I love your table as well! You all did a great job of taking a small space (although it doesn’t look like it) and turning it into a work of art. Great work!
