making soap by hand

Posted on | March 22, 2009 | No Comments

while we were in india, my mother manned our market table.

one day, a customer got talking with her…told her how much he loved the soap…and then said : but they don’t really make it all by hand.

*gasp* such slander!

i am here to tell you we DO make it all by hand.

every single step of our process is BY HAND.

the most advanced piece of machinery we have is a manual pallet lifter, so we don’t have to unload pallets of oils, one drum at a time, any more.

we weigh the oils manually.

we mix the soap manually.

we pour the soap into the moulds by hand.

we cut the soap by hand.

we stack and pack the soap by hand.

if you look at the finish of our soaps, they are most definitely not done by any sort of machine.

i think we need to get some photos of our production posted!
