olive oil and honey lotion

i recently made a batch of my famous olive oil + honey lotion.
i formulated this almost eight years ago and i’ve used it or a variation upon it, for almost all my skincare needs, ever since.
i use it as a cleansing cream, day cream, a night cream, a body lotion, a scrub base, a masque base and a dry hair treatment.
it is lovely under make-up or alone.
it’s quite an oily lotion, but it sinks into the skin after a few minutes.
the most recent version was made with some beautiful certified organic olive oil and essential oils (lavender/geranium/camomile/ylang ylang/mandarin) and apple cider vinegar, plus some wheat amino acids, and precious absolutes of rose and jasmine.
it’s floral and light and summery.
i made a couple dozen bottles to send off to a couple of swaps i am in and i kept a whole litre bottle back for myself.
it is lurking in my bathroom in a huge brown glass apothecary bottle next to a large jar of pink clay and a large jar of walnut shell powder.
my needs are pretty simple.
the OOH lotion is elegant, simple, effective and that’s all i require.
it’s almost a symbol of my idea of the perfect life.
