miss lily

my friend sharon signed up to be a wildlife carer recently, and soon found herself as foster mother to the delightful little lily, a paddymelon. (named for her ears that reminded me of delicate little calla lilies).
these little guys live in their mother’s pouch until they are about a year old.
lily is seven months old, so sharon has a few months ahead of her of 3-hourly feedings and carrying the cute miss lily around in a soft pouch on her chest.
miss lily is a total scene-stealer….you literally cannot look at or concentrate on ANYTHING ELSE when she is in the room.
she’s adorable….so bright and alert and healthy.
sharon is doing a beautiful job with her.
