this afternoon a couple of boxes of loot arrived from the USA…..stuff we had posted home to ourselves. along with 24 litres of maple syrup (a grade, dark amber), we unpacked a couple of microplane graters….a huge copper oval roasting dish…many small solid stainless steel whisks (for soapmaking!)…a load of magnetic spice tins from IKEA….some [...]

this time, a bunch of toronto-and-surrounds-soapers and myself having lunch at spring rolls in toronto, near the st lawrence market.notice all the good skins! it’s all that soap and water!

we arrived in narita at 4pm yesterday, after an eventful 12 hour flight from detroit. i fell into bed immediately and slept like a log until about 1am, at which point i awoke, lively and chatty.we debated getting room service as we were both hungry…jetlag!….but we held out until 6am, when we stormed the breakfast [...]
