what a day….

we made a return to the port douglas markets today, after a 2 year hiatus.
i have been feeling a need to get back to port douglas….i’ve always loved the village and it’s a great little market.
plus there is new management.
we had to get up at the unholy hour of 3.30am to shower, drink coffee, pack the car and depart at 4.30am.
we arrived in port douglas at 6.15 and it was still dark….quite cold….and definitely RAINING!
grim.
we set up rapidly, then proceeded to shiver and listen to music (o yes, i took my mac on it’s first outing) for what felt like simply hours, but was probably only until 9am.
right on cue, it stopped raining and lifted a bit, and hordes of people poured onto the field.
we had an excellent day with chai (black teas, honey, milk and spice oils) and lemon myrtle/white choc soap selling like the proverbial hotcakes.
best comments?
four separate people arrived at my tent, told me they had visited from sydney/melbourne/new zealand/new zealand, three/four/five/four years ago, bought soap from me, had just loved it but had no idea where/how to buy again, and were finally back in the area to buy more.
i informed them that their timing was most serendipitous and thanked them for their patience and loyalty in tracking me down.
it made the early start worthwhile 
we stopped for a fast bottle of champagne with friends on the way home, to celebrate a birthday….very pleasant finish to a very pleasant day.
the weather held until the drive home….then it rained on us all the way.
i’m looking forward to an excruciatingly hot shower and a very.early.night. in freshly laundered sheets!

p.s.I met you for the first time at Rusty’s a few weeks ago,even though I have been using your soap for 3 years thanks to my wonderful mother-in-law Lyn(one of your regular customers!)
