thai textures 2

i think part of the immense appeal of thailand, for me, personally, is the amount of TEXTURE there.
the place is incredibly rich in patterns and layers and contrasts.
at every turn, you are stunned by carvings….and painting….and silk textiles….and lush foliage….and inlay work….and mad little shrines…..and hugely ornate ancient temples….and over it all is the beautiful swirling thai language script.
texture, texture.
even the hovels and shacks have great texture.
everything seems more visceral and real and immediate there.

i realised i was in search of textures by about day two….so my photographs are generally of things that attracted my eye.
