quiet weekend

we had a very nice and quiet weekend here and didn’t make soap. unbelievable!
we went for short motorcycle rides……did lots of yoga…..looked at greenstone tikis online for HOURS (i do this fitfully and periodically, always looking for the ultimate fabulous tiki)…..had long and late breakfasts……had a delightful nicoise lunch with my brother…..played with various cats at various times and gave them all a thorough brushing until their coats gleamed.
my yoga wrist protectors arrived a couple of weeks ago and i find they have really helped my practice.
i have one weak wrist…..i fractured it rollerskating when i was young and it has never been the same since.
now it is like my wrist is perfect again.
i started a yoga blog some time ago and have been madly blogging there instead of here.
i have been quietly practicing daily and i feel marvellous for it.
there is a slight tendency to respond to all woes and ills with “YOGA”….it must annoy people somewhat.
but it really does make everything better!
if only they’d give it a whirl and see!
miss mousie is asleep under the desk lamp next to me, as usual.
it’s slightly cosy and she likes to be close enough for frequent pats. and bites.
i pat her and she often bites me. she’s a savage mouse.
she was here this afternoon and the setting sunlight was streaming through the blinds and actually making the markings on her face shine like pure silver.
she’s savage, but she is so pretty.
maurice cooked tonight and did a great job of it and the best part is that it all happened in the glass oven thingie. minimal fuss and minimal cleaning up and it was all just delicious and simple.
i think i am in the mood for some pasta tomorrow, dressed with fresh lemon, olive oil, thyme, hot salami and asparagus and kalamata olives.
it sounds mad, but it’s summery and light and tasty.

No soap for a weekend? How ever did you survive? =)
And a yoga blog? I’ll go check it out since I’ve recently started yoga and am really liking it. But, I’m gaining weight without the cardio so I’ll have to work on some balance in my workouts (and not just literally).

hi anne-marie….yes a whole weekend without making any soap is kind of weird around here! we really lazed about magnificently.
the yoga blog is an unlisted one….i dunno if the world is ready for my downward facing dog struggles or thoughts on yoga while menstruating (i’m all for it, actually).
it’s in the nature of a journal.
it’s the first time i’ve ever done something and kept a record of the daily details.
i suspect it would be freaking boring to read.
are you going to yoga classes?
i got some fabulous beginner dvds for the seriously out of shape and i am finding them tremendously helpful.

Hey Bandi,
Thanks!
just dropping by to say ‘Hello’.
We had the exact same dinner on Sunday, except for the Asparagus, and it was yum!
BTW, would you mind telling me the name of those yoga dvd’s you mentioned in your reply to Anne-Marie? I am in need of some suggestions.
Have a good one!

hi eeniemoni!
some titles for the yoga-phobic to consider:
yoga just my size, with megan garcia (very gentle, really good intro to yoga)
yoga for inflexible people….interactive and you can choose your routine.
yoga for stress relief….interactive, with a 30 min feature from the dalai lama on how to meditate.
yogazone….any of their beginner series is great.
i HTH!

o i just bought yoga for beginners with barbara benagh recently.
it is great: another interactive dvd: choose your routine kind of thing.
she has a lovely voice and style.
if you’ve never done any yoga, they are all great dvds to get started.
i recommend loads of props too.
a proper mat. some foam blocks. a strap. a folded blanket.
they really help.
