pre-storm

it’s thunderstorm time.
we are on tank water, so we LOVE it when the rain starts….but the pre-storm period is horrendous.
really still and oppressive and omg the humidity!
we’re all organised for the upcoming storm season….have already had to break out the generator twice in the last few weeks.
i think that thing is the best purchase we’ve ever made.
just recently added to the list of emergency gear are some rechargeable battery-powered lighting. purchased from the local post office of all places.
now, the entire grid can shut down, but we will merrily….and doggedly….continue soaping and shipping!
i can see a huge dark cloudy front heading this way.
i think i’ll just have time for some yoga and to make a smoked chicken salad dinner, before it hits.
