a special soap for brumalia

brumalia is the ancient festival to celebrate the return of the sun-god after the shortest day of the year.
this is of course, the winter solstice, which occurs this year at 4.06am EST 22 june.
looks like i’ll be getting up a touch earlier than usual….it’s my friday market day with a 4am start anyway.
i think the moment the astro-event occurs is the optimal moment for the ingredients to be combined and the mixing to begin.
i very much enjoy planning and creating astrosoaps, so of course i am already deep into my plotting for this event!
i’m thinking of a very limited run of 48 bars only.
i want some cheerful citrus oils in there (bergamot and tangerine and lime), some fir and juniper evergreens to remind us that summer is coming, some cinnamon and black pepper to warm us, and a touch of patchouli and myrrh to ground it and hold it all together.
i still haven’t decided how this soap should LOOK, however.
i am still tossing options around.
stark white with calendula petals (the sun again) and a foresty green swirl, perhaps.
