….for 25 X 5 litre HDPE cubes, with bungs and taps.

they’d be perfect for storing my essential oil blends.
tidy to store….easy to label….stackable…..easy to clean….easy to dispense a batch-weight.
no more hefting 5 kilo aluminiunm flasks around! no more aluminium disintegration to deal with! no more drip marks!

HOWEVER, in this imperfect world, the smallest size is 10 litres.

i have 23 EO blends.
we prefer to fill those containers to the top….to keep that nasty oxygen out.
that’s 230 KILOS of blended EOs sitting around.
oxidising.
some faster than others.
and not necessarily the ones i am using the quickest, if you see what i mean.

moreover….the shape of the 10 litre cube would manage to expose an enormous surface area of the EO blend to the same old oxygen.
i think not…

it seems that i am the only person on the planet who has ever longed for a 5 litre HDPE cube, because i have looked and googled and searched and phoned high and low, far and wide and it appears that no such item exists anywhere.

life seems a hollow and joyless prospect now, with empty years, devoid of the right containers, stretching out bleakly ahead of me.

i really thought i was ON to something and now i am crushed.

Two things come to mind: brewing suppliers and http://www.alibaba.com

“Alibaba International (www.alibaba.com) is the world’s largest online B2B marketplace for global trade. More than 500,000 people visit the site every day, most of them global buyers and importers looking to find and trade with sellers in China and other major manufacturing countries. Alibaba International has more than three million registered users from over 200 countries and territories.”

So much goes on there, and I really don’t have a good grasp of it. But it looks like something you might find useful. You can find almost anything there.

Patti, have you thought about using inert gas? Every time I take any eo’s out of a bottle, I always spray it with a few shots of inert gas. I get mine at a local wine-making store, and it’s supposed to be used to spray on the surface of wine if you can’t drink the whole bottle so the wine doesn’t oxidise (huh, I can’t imagine not finishing off a bottle of wine ;) )

i’ve spent the last couple days searching again for these containers, but it appears that they truly only exist IN MY MIND!! LOL.
nobody makes them, so nobody sells them and it seems that there is a limited market for them…..me.
i do belong to alibaba and it is mayhem over there.
it’s a great place to hook up directly with all sorts of manufacturers in china….of course, everybody wants you to buy a pallet right off!

jody, the inert gas is a great solution BUT it is wildly expensive here and i cannot be bothered squirting it into 23 blends and dozens of straight EOs.
i use them faster than such a system would warrant.
but i did check them out, thanks!
