easter sunday

i awoke at 3am to the sound of torrential rain….so the easter sunday market was decidedly a no-go.
if i was selling ANYTHING but unwrapped handmade artisanal soap….i’d have gone.
so, we had a whole day with no plans and the local dump was open in the afternoon.
what to do, what to do?
ooooo i know!
let’s shift the storage areas around in the soapbarn.
now let’s strip everything and clean everything.
now let’s wash the walls.
now let’s transfer 10,000 paper bags into lovely new big plastic storage bins.
now let’s have a bonfire of all the cardboard.
now let’s top up all the small herb containers and all the clays from the bulk storage…..calendula, lavender, nettles, camomile, jasmine, green tea, seaweed, lemon myrtle, rose petals …….everything smells so herbally-good!
i threw out a LOT of old stuff today….things i have just been hanging onto because “they may come in handy one day”.
well, i think i finally got sick of seeing them gather dust, so out they went to the recycle part of the local dump.
it feels very good and has created a lot of space and good energy.
i put up some fresh cold infusions of camomile/nettles and chickweed/plantain and strained out a huge vat of organic calendula in olive oil.
positively golden and smelled like liquid sunshine.
i’ll make some lovely all-purpose healing balms in another month.
