january soaping

it’s that time of year again.

i have to come up with two or three or four new soaps and stories and kill off a corresponding number of old faves.

i am leaning towards a drastic alteration in the presentation of the goatmiel bar.
it’s just so freaking boring.
i think i need a stripe in there. or a swirl. or something.

french clay and bergamot is beginning to tire me. five long years of it.
i am going to tart the bitch right up and give her a whole new look and scent.
keep the pink clay, add a white swirl, coconut cream, rose geranium and tangerine and vetiver eos.
i have the cutest name and story all ready for this one.

green tea and silk also needs an overhaul.
it’s my personal favourite soap, but it isn’t a red hot seller.
it looks tan and bland with green tea flecks in it.
i think i have to give her a green clay and green oxide face lift.
a brooding moody green, rather than a perky green…..

i think lemon goatsmilk is dead too.
last year i made thousands of bars for an island resort south of here.
it was white and teal blue with poppyseeds and nori and a lovely (if i say so myself) oceanic blend.
i think it would be so easy to just slide it into the line up.

and i want to revamp the dead sea mud.
i am leaning towards adding a sexy black swirl, that’s all.

i know they are all just tweaks, but when you have to repeat that soap over and over and over and over, you really have to consider how much time the tweaks take and how consistent you can be with them.
